Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not always, but usually. The diagnostic gives us a clear picture of your current state and helps prioritize what to fix first. If you already know exactly what you need (rare), we can discuss skipping straight to implementation.

  • Absolutely. Many clients start with one system, like pricing or dispatch, and add more later. We'd rather you get one thing right than spread too thin across five.

  • Monthly check-ins, KPI review, troubleshooting, and ongoing support to keep systems running. Think of it as having a fractional operations partner who keeps you accountable.

  • Start with a discovery call. We'll learn about your situation and recommend the right entry point, usually a diagnostic if we haven't worked together before.

  • Most options give you advice, a tool, or a playbook. Ironwood installs the operating routines that make change stick, using fixed-scope delivery, a small KPI scorecard, and bounded cadence retainers so results don’t fade back into firefighting.

  • We structure pricing as an investment ladder so you can gain clarity with a low-commitment first step, then decide whether larger implementation work is worth it, and finally sustain results without open-ended consulting spend.

    1) Diagnostic (low-commitment entry investment, clear deliverables)
The Diagnostic is a fixed-scope entry engagement designed to establish a baseline, identify the binding constraints, and deliver a sequenced 90-day implementation plan tied to clear operational and financial metrics. This lets you make an informed decision before committing to larger implementation. Typical investment is $4,500–$7,500.

    2) Implementation Sprints (fixed-fee installation investment, time-boxed)
If we’re aligned, implementation happens through fixed-fee sprints over 6–12 weeks. These are priced based on complexity and scope, and typically range from $10,000–$40,000. The goal is to install operating cadence, workflow discipline, and the practical systems your team will actually adopt.

    3) Retainers (sustainment investment, cadence-based and bounded)
After implementation, retainers exist to prevent improvements from decaying back into firefighting. Retainers are monthly, tiered by cadence and scope, and typically range from $1,000–$5,000+ per month. They focus on scorecards, structured operating rhythm, and quarterly resets—so the system stays alive as the business evolves.

Why we structure it this way
This investment model keeps commitment proportional to certainty: you start with clarity, then invest in installation, then invest in sustainment. It also keeps scope disciplined and cash flow predictable through deposits/milestones for project work and monthly billing for retainers.
